Troubleshooting Your Printer

When I was growing up, the only way to print something was to take it to school and hope that the technology lab could read your floppy disk. However, these days, most people have a printer at home that they can use whenever they need to. I don't know about your, but at my house, we have our fair share of trouble with our printer. Sometimes it jams, while other times we end up dealing with clogged print heads and streaky lines on our documents. Fortunately, I have learned how to troubleshoot these problems, and I want to share the solutions with you.

Finding The Right Printing Company For Your Large Print Job

Working with a printing company for basic printing needs is pretty standard in business, but if you have a large printing job that you need, such as trade show display printing, you need to find a company that can handle the job for you. Printing on a large scale is different, and the equipment required is very different from the printers that produce small items like flyers or mailers.

Signs, Posters, and Banners

When you need large posters for a display or public event, you need to find a printer that can make them for you. One of the biggest challenges with large scale printing is ensuring that the signs be clear and easy to read. If you are hanging a large sign and the print is even a little fuzzy or blurry, the sign will not look great.

The quality of the printing is mostly dependent on the machines or equipment used to print the sign or banner for you. The printers need to be able to handle the large format, and they need to produce sharp images at high resolution so that the banner or sign looks clean and sharp from a distance as well as up close.

Finding a Printer

Working with a sign shop or printing company is the best way to get the results you want, but finding the right business to work with can be difficult sometimes. One of the best ways to find a printing company to help you with your printing needs is to ask your colleagues and other businesses in the area who they use.

If you are in a business association, other members may have suggestions for you as well. Use the resources you have to find the right print shop for your printing needs. There may be a business in your area that is a member of the same business association that can produce the signs or banners you need, and you never knew they were there.

Digital Design and Assets

If you are working with a print shop to product large signs or banners, the quality of the sign can change dramatically with the quality of the digital file used to produce the sign. Working with a graphic designer to create the signs is a good option, but make sure to find out how large the file needs to be for the print shop to produce the sign you want.

The designer will need to create your files large enough to meet the needs of the printer, or the quality of the signs may not be as good as you need them to be.
